Kama Sutra on Kissing
Kamasutra, the
treatise on lovemaking is hailed as the best book one could ever read on
sex. The sole purpose of sex is not just procreation as mentioned by the
West. India was the first country in the world to acknowledge different
ways in which one could take and receive sex just for the sake of
pleasure. Kamasutra has given some of the best tips one can ever
find on kissing.
The Kamasutra says that kissing, clawing and biting softly
should be done moderately and done alternately during the act. The
following are the erogenous zones in a woman which can induce a feeling
of sensuality in a woman: the forehead, the eyes, the cheeks, the
throat, the breasts, the lips, the navel, the buttocks, the arms, the
genitalia and the interior of the mouth.
.
Kissing a young girl can be classified into three types of
kisses:
- The nominal kiss
- The throbbing kiss
- The touching kiss
When a young woman
merely touches the mouth of her lover with her own, but does not do
anything more, it is called the 'nominal kiss'.
When a girl, in a flirtatious playful nature, touches the lip that is
pressed into her mouth, and with that thing shifts her lower lip, but
not the upper one, it is called the 'throbbing kiss'.
When a girl touches her lover's lip with her tongue, and with eyes
closed, places her hands on those of her lover, it is called the
'touching kiss'.
Apart from Vatsayana who was the main author, the others have also given
a list of other types of kisses. They are:
- The straight
kiss
- The bent kiss
- The turned kiss
- The pressed
kiss
- The greatly
pressed kiss
The 'straight kiss'
is when the lips of two lovers are brought in direct contact with each
other.
The ‘bent kiss’ is one when the heads of two lovers are bent
toward each other and the kissing happens in that bent or leaning
position.
.
The ‘turned kiss’ is when one of the mates turns up the face of
the other by holding the head and chin, and then starts with kissing .
The fifth one would be the ‘pressed kiss’ which is when the lower lips
is pressed against the one of the lover with great intensity.
There is also a fifth kind of kiss called the 'greatly pressed kiss',
which takes place by holding the lower lip between two fingers, and
then, after touching it with the tongue, pressing it with great force
with the lip.
Kissing is a playful game of love where a bet is laid to find out
who will get hold of the lips of the other first. If the woman loses,
she has to pretend to cry and feel bad. She should shake her hands with
her lover and move away from him complaining that there should be
another bet. If she again loses, she should pretend to be all the more
upset. When her lover is sleeping, she should catch his lower lip, and
hold it in her teeth, so that it does not slip away. She should joke,
make a noise, tease him, dance about and say anything in jest and move
her eyebrows and roll her eyes.
The above were the kisses for a girl. Let’s look at the kisses
which befit a woman. When a man kisses the upper lip of a woman,
while she in return kisses his lower lip, it is called the 'kiss of the
upper lip'. When one of them takes both the lips of the other between
his or her own, it is called 'a clasping kiss'. A woman, however,
only takes this kind of kiss from a man who has no moustache.
During this kiss, if one of them touches the teeth, the tongue,
and the palate of the other, with his or her tongue, it is called the
'fighting of the tongue'.
According to the different parts of the body which are kissed,
there are four different kinds of kisses: moderate, contracted,
pressed, and soft. When a woman gazes at her man when he is asleep and
gives him a kiss to show her amorous intention, it is called a 'kiss
that kindles love'.
When a woman kisses her lover while he is working or while he is
arguing with her or while his attention is diverted to another object or
a woman, it is called a 'kiss that turns away'.
When a lover coming home late at night kisses his woman, who is
asleep on her bed, in order to show her his lust, it is called a 'kiss
that awakens'. A woman can pretend to be asleep or take a nap so that
she could appear sexually attractive and available to her man, so that
she can get his interest and respect.
When a person kisses an image, figure or a child sitting on his
lap, in the presence of the person beloved by him, it is called a
'transferred kiss'.
When a person kisses the reflection of the person he loves in
water, on a wall or in a mirror it is called a 'kiss showing the
intention'.
When at night at a play or in a congregation of men, a man comes up
to a woman and kisses a finger of her hand when she is standing
or kisses the toe of her foot when she is sitting, it is called
the ‘demonstrative kiss.’ This kiss is also applicable
when a woman washes her lover’s body, places her face on his thigh, in a
sleepy mood, so as to arouse his passion and kisses his thigh or
toe.
